Decided to pre-order in HMV yesterday. Normally I'm an online shopper in order to save money, but in the grand scheme of things the online savings were only about 10% for the types of bundle I wanted, and since I came into some cash unexpectedly I decided to treat myself to a day one purchase and not have to wait for once. :D

Got the pre-order pack and looked to redeem the voucher last night. I had understood that there was a five euro value off a PSN game, but when redeeming last night I got the impression it was a full game. The game select page didn't mention costs and just allowed me to select one game and when I confirmed it said it would email me download details closer to release date. Can anyone clarify the situation here? I'll be delighted if it's free, but somewhat annoyed now if there's only a discount as they could have been clearer as to how much each game cost up front.

Can you put the code in on the PS3? edit: I've just done it myself, see what you mean no. The game isn't free I don't think, think it'll just be a discount voucher?

The voucher said to go to a website (think its www.psvitafirst.com) and redeem the code, so I went there, logged in with my PSN ID and went through the process which wasn't much other than 'selecting' the game from Escape Plan, Hustle Kings, Super Stardust HD Delta, and Little Deviants. It told me it would email me the PSN avatar crap within 72 hrs and the download details for the game closer to launch.

I expect you're right, but it's quite unclear. Why not simply explain that I will be sent a link that will show me four discounted games that I can choose to purchase one from. The way they have done it, I know some people will believe they have been allowed a free game.

On a similar note, any confirmation of the EU prices for these games? All I can find are Sterling and Dollar prices.

I put down €15 deposit about 10 days ago in HMV Dundrum for the 3G vita - but I never got a pre-order pack. (I dont think the staff knew too much about the Vita launch at the time.)

Does anyone know if I will get the preorder pack when I collect on Wed or have I missed out? Think I will now go for the wifi and Uncharted (I don't see any major plusses in having the 3g)

Well it says £5 off super stardust, so I'm still expecting to pay £1.50 on it.

I can't see there being any problem on wednesday for you. If they were taking pre-orders without giving them out the pack at your branch, then others will be in the same boat. Just be firm and white lie about it if you have to ... "I asked specifically and was told I'd receive it when I picked up the order"

I think you are right about the 3G. Even Sony are now admitting they see the 3G as an experimental feature. I think the 3G will not be widely used in any sort of exciting manner by developers. Many have omitted 3G multiplayer claiming they were unhappy with testing.

for those who were told a load of BS last week in gamestop waterford, there is hope, as I went in today and talked to another member of staff and got the bundle I wanted at the advertised price on the posters, No we dont do this for pre-orders and the price on the posters are just guesswork and maybe changed

I got heres the deal, i said can I have it, he said nps so happy days

    Shin

But that's sterling prices. You can never be sure what the euro value of a sterling price game is. The euro is weak against the pound currently. They might screw us because of that, or maybe we might get lucky. I went with Escape Plan which is 9.99 sterling. I'm expecting that is 15 euro, but the voucher only indicates five euro off, meaning I'd get 33% off whereas the UK will get 50% off.

Sorry if that's confusing but that's why I'm looking for clarification, because it is confusing.

Well I have a UK account  but at a rough guess, I'd say... 11.99 for escape plan, in euros. Very rough guess, but 15 is a big price hike. Usually not as much as that.

sony eu twitter say vita store will be up at midnight oh and the eu psn psn blog will have prices in 7 minutes

    Weird.

As I said earlier, I have pre-ordered with Gamestop.co.uk. I just e-mailed them an hour ago asking when it would be shipped, and subtly hinted that people have already received their Amazon orders.

    Just received a reply:

    Hi,

Your order has shipped today and will arrive in time for tomorrow's release.

    Have a lovely day!

    Kind Regards,
    Rebecca.

    BOOOOM!

I'd be happy with 12 euro so fingers crossed there. However one of the reason I don't buy non discounted PSN stuff has been due to poor value in terms of currency conversion. Perhaps that's improved in the last year or two, but I can recall a 15 dollar game (as Escape Plan is currently listed) being sold for 15 euro in the EU store which is a rip off.

Plants vs zombies already? :D If wipeout is 35 on the store, safe to assume 40 in brick and mortar shops.

If you buy the game second hand you need to buy the network pass to play online

Finally found GAME's trade-in deals for Ireland.

Very poor compared to both Gamestop and to GAME's own UK deals.

                http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/404928_363419367010323_144166562268939_1347338_1272109184_n.jpg

                Basically, you'll get €95 for a 3DS.

                Gamestop are offering €150 against a Vita for a 3DS + game.

GAME in the UK are offering £130 (~€155) for a 3DS against a Vita.

                What's up with the discrepancy?

My preorder is with GAME, but if I went to Gamestop with my 3DS I'd still be saving money even if I forfeited by €30 deposit at GAME!

Is there any way to get my deposit back? Exchange it against something else? Buy the Vita and then sell it back at a €10 loss?

                Dunno what to do now.

Finally found GAME's trade-in deals for Ireland.

Very poor compared to both Gamestop and to GAME's own UK deals.

                I already posted that

If you ask them nicely, Game might put your deposit onto a gift card, or take it off a Game you want.

What's the wipeout + network pass all about, cause I see u can download the network pass alone for €9.99

its the online pass for the game - you need it to access the multiplayer

if you buy the game you'll get the pass included as far as i know.
