Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Just wondering what should be typical costs per acre for Spring Barley spray program for 2011 before I get stuck into my agri-merchant? First time growing Barley in 20 years and shocked at cost of sprays. Nothing special was required just general weed and fungicide. Initial spraying/weed control approx EUR20/acre, broad spectrum fungicide at EUR40/acre and post heading at EUR40/acre. Sprays used were Corbel, Coyote, Bravo 500, Amistar, Bontima, Methrin

That sounds way over the top, have a look at the teagasc crop costs and returns and see how you compare.

Sounds a bit high alright, I'll have a look at the invoices for this year later and post up our costs

Our barley was sprayed just the once in the first week of june with Allymax, Empire, Twinprop, Strand, Tern and MB500 costing €23/acre.

What time did you sow ? You tell me the sprayer was only in the crop once. Herbicide and all the fungicide. Never saw that to work well.

There's a bit of a cross over with the products, you should probably reducing the rate. Your last spray is expensive. What county u in.
