    Hi,

I recently signed up for the Sky Plus deal (Free satellite dish, free box, free installation, and €100 back).

When the technician came out, he said that as there was already a satellite on the roof (left over from previous residents several years ago), he would use that.

He installed a quad LNB and went off.

Since then, the reception is quite patchy, even in good weather.

Could this be to do with him using an old satellite rather than a new one?

If so, am i entitled to ask for a new satellite to be installed as this was part of the original deal?

    Thanks,

It's stated in the terms+conditions that installers may use existing equipment(ie dishes)

However if the dish isn't fit for purpose then he should've installed a new one.
Contact Sky and get the installer back out to fix it,sounds like he took the lazy way out and didn't even bother to use a meter to check the signal.

Yes, what you need is a dish, not a satellite. The satellite is supposed to be 24,000 miles up in space. ;)
