Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey guys,

Just want to get some opinions. I'm planning on buying a set of 12 sigma make up brushes and I was wondering what people thought of them? And if I need to buy the roll up or would buying the brushes on their own be alright?

    Thanks

    Sara

I have a few sets of Sigma brushes and I have to say I absolutely love them - and that's coming from a hardcore MAC fan! :pac:

I have the 12 brush set and I find it great - I think they've improved the quality of them since they first launched and started out copying MAC's brush numbering system - bad Sigma, bad!

The 12 brush set without the roll works out at about E55 which I think is great value, considering you could spend nearly that alone on just one MAC brush.

The roll is $20 more, it's not a necessity, however, I find it's great if you're not using your brushes daily as it keeps them dust free - whereas if you keep them stood upright in a brush holder, dust invariably gets into the brushes - so for about E14 extra I think it's a good buy, it's great to bring travelling etc.. however it's down to personal choice really.

One brush set I would heartily recommend is the Synthetic Face Kit - I can't rave about this enough! The brushes are ideal for getting that airbrushed look - honestly, forget the 187, these are in a class of their own! :D

I'm an affiliate with Sigma, so I have an affiliate code - if you purchase through my link you get a free gift with your order, which is a nice bonus :)

    [REFERRAL LINK REMOVED]

Affiliation aside however, for the money I think the brushes are great value. I used to buy MAC and Inglot brushes, however I'm converted to Sigma now - I'd much rather spend the money I'm saving on brushes, on eyeshadows and pigments etc.. :)

    Hi Ruby,

Thanks for your advice. I've heard so much good things about these brushes I just wanted to double check!

I don't know how the whole affiliate code thing works but I'd love a free gift! :D Who wouldn't!

I would probably go for the 12 brush kit, just because I need new eye make up brushes too, not just face ones.

Thanks so much for your opinion.

I bought these brushes around a year ago and while the eye brushes are still perfect, I had to throw out my fibre foundation brush because it started shedding tiny black hairs all over my face-not a good look!!

I only received my first order last week - 2 eye brushes and two face brushes, and got a free eye brush (same as one I'd ordered, which was disappointing, even more so when it turned out to be not as good - like MAC the SH brushes maybe are not as good as full size?) and I don't think they ar equite as good as MAC. However so much cheaper!

I probably will buy more because they're cheap and pretty decent but the MAC equivalents, I find, are better (yes I bought ones I already had in MAC, mainly to have clean brushes every morning)

ELF do decent bags and rolls, if the roll is pricey I'd have a look at the ELF one instead perhaps

First of all if you spend over $30 you get a free gift anyway whether or not you click the referral link or not, I was an affiliate for awhile before I came a sales rep for them.

Another thing is the numbering system, Yes they copied MAC, it's there so you can easily find the dupes they make of MAC brushes it's simple and it works.

I use Sigma brushes the most they're affordable and good quality, the brush roll isn't a must but if you travel a lot or bring brushes with you it can be very handy. Goodluck with your purchase if you need more info give me a PM :)
