Another bogey for Darren. Was in Bjorn's bunker and hit a great shot to 4 feet but missed the putt

    Hey guys,

Does anybody know where I can watch the Open online? Any suitable website ect would be a great help.

    Cheers.

Paddy + 4 with 4 holes to go. Cut prediction is currently at + 2. Doesn't look good again!

Who droppedout to let Ricky Barnes in?

I could be totally wrong but i think this is the only major that doesn't use the 10 shot rule.
Who droppedout to let Ricky Barnes in?
The guy who fell off the scooter. Colsaerts?

Would always take a look at Ricky too. Seems to play very well in majors.

The commentators are speculating that the cut will likely go out to three-under.

Mark James covering himself in glory as always by joking that the North "might stop fighting with each other" if Clarke wins... wish they'd get that tit off the tele.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,095 ✭✭✭doc_17

Birdie for Darren at the last!
    Some funny Beeb commentary:

Andrew Cotter "Imagine what would happen if darren won the Open after Graeme and Rory won a major in the last year"

Mark James "would be amazing...they might even stop fighting (over there)"

    You presume correct! :)

Must have been confusing myself with what I'm planning to shoot on Monday at the European Club! :)

Hazel Irving in with an apology for any offence caused by the comment re Northern Ireland, harmless enough I thought, just foot in mouth.

Sounds like the BBC presenter has apologised for that.

An eagle 5 birdies 3 bogies and a Double Bogey for Big Dazza

Say what you like about the man but you can not call him boring

Did the commentator just call Dyson Canadian?

Now if only Faldo would apologise for his opening Ryder Cup speech...

    Harrington finished on +4.

Cut will be +3 at least.

Would be unusal if top 70 were covered by 7 shots!

    Couldn't believe he said that...

The BBC were quick to apologise for any offence caused.....Sounds like they got a fair few complaints...

He might not get away with it that easily. Its a lot worse than Rodney Marsh's joke about David Beckham and the Toon Army ( tsunami ) for which he was subsequently sacked....

Mark James: Ryo just stands for "Really Young Oriental"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,063 ✭✭✭Adiaga 2

Missed Mark James's NI comment. But he was discussing Ishikawa just there and "joked" that Ryo stood for "really young oriental". Now I know political correctness can go too far at times but that discription would be offensive to any one from the far east and especially Japan.

He's rubbish in commentary. Always thought he was a sneering pig of a man.

He didn't need to say very much they were looking to sack him anyway.

Is Wayne Grady a southern hemisphere Monty, or is it just me? Hard to believe he's Aussie.

Not that I care, or not sure if its been mentioned already but I thought that amateurs couldn't wear sponsership on their clothes, but young Lewis has Hugo and Ping displayed? I thought I remembered Mannasero wearing a plain blue top and cap when he was playing with Watson? Just curious, like I say, not giving out or anything.

I'm not offended - I just can't stand the bloke.

I see Goosen has withdrawn. I backed him €5 e/w, anyone know if I'll get refunded?

Nope nothing against that. They cant accept endorsement money from the brands but they still have to wear clothes! Still remember McIlroy with his electric green puma jumper back in 2007 at Carnoustie

Ah ok. Thought I heard it somewhere but obviously not! :)

I thought someone might have pulled away from the pack with the good weather this morning, bit of a subdued start to the open so far.

Hopefully McIlroy can put a decent round together 2- would be a very good round in the windier conditions

Would they? I doubt they'd be offended at being called Oriental.

No, seeing as he played round 1.

If Rory shot 69 today it would be great.

Rory made a steady start probably should have had birdie but hopefully he has a good wknd ahead of him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 461 ✭✭kerosene

Another good chance for birdie at the 2nd for mcilroy

Have to say the course is really holding up well - good sign that in benign conditions it's still taking good golf to have a good round while there's no one being made a fool of either... looks like it's been set up pretty much perfect.

have to agree with that. It seems like a well balanced challenge at the moment

It'll get interesting tomorrow if it gets bad! Forecast is looking horrendous according to some!

Can someone remind me how they determine what the cut value will be ?

They say +3 at the moment, how do they work it out ?

I wonder will Paddy Harrington wait around to see if he will scrape in....it doesnt look too good being +4. (unless there are some thunderstorms in the afternoon)

Thunderstorms would do nothing. The players would be brought into the clubhouse and then unleashed onto a soft course when the storm has passed. Cut would probably go to +2 then.

Rory birdies 6 to go level par. Anything around level par today will do him nicely going into the weekend.

Think he can take the lead by the end of today. He certainly will be looking for it.

I stuck €10 on him 20 mins ago at 10/1. Thought it may be the best price i'd see on him.

Yeah but if he birdies this one I can see him getting to -2 which would be perfect if he could get lucky with the weather tomorrow and sunday
