Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The community looking out for each other that is. I was on my way from Balbriggan to town this morning and just outside Swords on the R132 I came up over a slight hill and straight into the path of lots of broken glass. I pulled up a little further on, got off the bike and checked no glass had stuck in between the grooves on the tires (riding a MTB with no slicks). A cyclist whizzed past me but the next fellow stopped and asked me if I was OK and what had happened.

I mentioned it was nothing serious and was just checking I hadn't picked up any glass in the tires. He explained on the same stretch of road last week he got a puncture from a screw.

Anywhoo that's it, no major story but it was nice to see a fellow cyclist stop to see if everything was OK. So if you were on a blue roadbike, wearing a red jacket thanks very much!

I've had a few people check on me when I've been pulled over. Very nice indeed. :)

If I see someone pullled over I will deffo stop to see if they need help !

I stopped with a lad recently who was suffering the hunger knock (hypoglycemia) . He was as white .. no food with him .... A big load of fig-rolls and a turkish delight and he was grand again...

Being a diabetic teaches you a trick or two about fuelling yourself properly ! I always carry way too much stuff with me..

Its cycling etiquette to stop ! :)

Having big trouble with my back wheel rim at the moment and on the way home last night it blew off the rim 3 times (first time shreding my tube to bits) managed to get off the bike the second two times before the tube came out because i noticed the tire pressing off my brakes, I was passed by a good whack of people on bikes while fixing the problem and unfortnately nobody stopped to help (though nothing could have done) i ended up cycling home with 30psi in the back tire and standing towards the front of the bike to keep the weight off. Longest end to a cycle ive ever had.

I was cycling home recently, and I saw a guy pushing his bike with a flat back wheel. I always carry a puncture repair kit and a pump, so I stopped to offer my assistance. The guy refused my help in broken english, so I took out the pump and repair kit, in case he didn't understand. He shook his head and said he alright and walked on.
One of the strangest encounters I've had in a while.

That was me, you're welcome :) When I saw you stopped I thought you might have hit some shrapnel too, since it was only about 50m from there that my tyre went boom last week. Also for once I happened to be carrying a tube patch kit aswell as the normal stuff (gonna patch a tube that went yesterday during my lunchbreak) so figured no matter what had happened I might be able to help!

Same here, I have met lads with hypos while out on a spin. As you may know as well, it can take a bit of trickery to get people to eat if they are nearly to far gone as well.
