Is this Conlans of Booleigh? - Fair play to that pub, they do all sorts of weekends and promotions.

You're about equal distance from Athy, Kildare Town & Kilcullen.

There is a caravan / camping & hostel place on the old N78 main road into Athy that may suffice http://www.accommodationathy.com/Bed%20&%20Breakfast.htm

If you have a tent, conlons allow you pitch in the field opposite.

Yea,it sounds great, think they are on the right thinking there, most fans would be of a mature age so maybe good drinkers with less hassle.Have the derby house hotel booked,85 a night for twin room but bought a tent in dunnes yesterday for 15 nicker so we are flirting with the idea of that mad idea(sure to be regretted)and the €30 includes camping facilitys and security.Trip adviser giving bad auld reviews of said hotel so it hasnt changed much since i used to be leaping around to the Jam on a sunday night with the other 7 people at the disco in the early 80s.

Yea,looking for top money for what they are.Think we might chance the camping but like any good cowards will leave booking cancellation til we get weather reports for about 3 days before hand,we were saying last night that we would be saving €170 on hotel and i suppose it would be €15 in and out to kildare for 2 days.If i could have a shower in the morning i wouldnt have a bother with the camping as i would say that when we get our head down that the luxuary will be the least of our thoughts.

Ah go on - do the camping - if reports from other events held there its great crack even for oldies :) and according to the weather forum, its looking good

Thats it then, looks like my €15 investment in a tent in Dunnes stores might pay of.

Camping at the pub is just a field opposite, possibly a portaloo.

There is a commercial campsite with all facilities a few miles away on the Athy road

Hi Ye there's a bar in the marquee - they are also doing a can bar - its ok to drink your own on campsite - the nearest swimming pool would be in Athy about 15min drive
