Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Anybody got any ideas?

There was a hobby shop on The Quay that sold for a while and then stopped. Then there was a bookshop that sold 'em, but that closed down.

Anyone on here know anywhere I can get em in Waterford? Looking to get back into miniatures purely for the painting.

    Heya,

I can't give any info on shops in waterford but if you're getting into minis for painting then it might be worth checking out some of the smaller lines available online or to some degree in dublin/cork.

3 of the following 4 started out as companies making miniatures for painters, and they're imo much more detailed than GW models. You might just prefer the GW look though, but if you're interested in painting then it's worth checking them out anyway.

    Sci-Fi
    Corvus Belli (Infinity) - http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/
Studio McVey - http://www.studiomcvey.com/ (click the x on the fullscreen ad to get to the page with models)

    Fantasy
    Wyrd Miniatures (Malifaux) - http://wyrd-games.net/
    Freebooter's Fate (pirates) www.freebooterminiatures.de

There's plenty of others so if there's a genre you're particularly interested in then maybe someone can give you a pointer.

Go to New Ross (It's a short bus ride) and you'll find two shops with a very small selection, but enough to get you started. Campbells stocks all of the paints and sprays and modelling items, codices and a few of the bigger boxes. They're on south street, but they're mainly a kid's toy shop. The other shop, Bridge stores, mainly stock models and big box kits, like the Black Reach set and drop pods, but no paints. They're on North street.

There's also a Warhammer painting kit in the Model Centre on the Quay that no-one has bothered to buy for ages. But that's the only Warhammer related item in there.

Other than those shops, the only other place I go to is Games Paradise in Wexford. It's on 1Selskar street and they have a gigantic selection, easily bigger than the one that Tall Tales or the Hobby shop used to have. If you have a load of money that you want to spend on Warhammer, then that's where I'd start. Otherwise, go to New Ross, buy Black Reach, Black Spray and whatever paints you need, then go nuts!

If you don't have a local shop then Maelstrom games or wayland in the UK are good options.
Cheaper UK prices for GW stuff and free shipping last time I checked.

Plus they do discounts on different ranges every few months
