Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

I've never posted here before, but come here in a time of need :pac: .

Anyway, I've started re-designing my website ( http://www.richardtphoto.com/ ) as I've got sick of the current template.

So I decided a few hours a go to make something new, using CSS three and a bit more style. This is what I have so far:

Could any one give me comments/criticism/suggestions on it please?

Photography sites always look way more impressive when you give most of the space to the photographs themselves. The photographs are the content and the reason for the website existing, so they should have priority!

Check out links such as this to see that others are giving nearly all of the space to the images themselves.

Having an introductory message saying "Hello, welcome to my photography site, I've set this site up to show my photographs" etc is redundant and fairly old fashioned. It's totally obvious and understood that you're a photographer and that you set the site up to show your photographs, so you're wasting precious patience by asking the visitor to read this :)

"Sports, portraits, nature and more" doesn't sound like a great pitch. It just sounds like you're generically trying to appeal for all needs...sell yourself and your ability, style/vision - that's what excites people.

Further, I wouldn't be too quick to say that you're a computer science student. People want to hire someone with a strong creative artistic flare, unfortunately people don't really associate that with computer science. Again it's about building an image of you in their minds and catering to what they're really after.

    G'luck!
