Like the title says - Where do you buy screws and/or other stuff such as nuts, bolts, nails etc

I find that the web is awkward to order screws on, and delivery chasrges make em expensive. Am I as well off going to local builders providers (just always feel like I'm being ripped off in those places)

Etag fixings in ashbourne...1/3 of the price that b+q will charge you.

B&Q, Woodies, Homebase etc... will all rob you. Go to brooks and you'll most likely get the best price you can.

They can be expensive though. A box of 7 * 120s could be anywhere up to a tenner, but the smaller ones are cheaper.

Personally, I much prefer spax over any other brand.

Definitely buy from a proper hardware store or builders providers, unless you are buying a large quantity it doesn't make much sense to buy online. That said I've bought some "trade size" multiple screw packs online for very little money. Spax and Reisser are great brands for screws. If you have ongoing work (and requirement for screws, fixings etc) it makes sense to buy a load of screws- a box or two of each of the more common sizes, when you run low just replace as required. There's a bit of outlay to begin with but you'll always have the right size screw you need, instead of buying in dribs and drabs, wasting time at a trade counter. Common nails are so cheap in comparison that there's no reason to buy these online.

Well I just bought the following

    200 3.3 x 25mm
    200 4.0 x 30mm
    200 4.0 x 40mm
    200 4.0 x 50mm
    200 4.0 x 60mm
    200 5.0 x 70mm

The total bill including delivery was STG £27

How would you rate that? Good? Bad?

Well the screws I bought are marked as Olympic Fixings and HSS Hire. The seller is an Ebay seller who is actually in Ireland but so close to border that they deal in stg. If anyone wants their details pm me. If I see a post from a mod stating its ok to post them, I'll do otherwise Ill keep em private. I have no link to them whatsoever.

    Wurth price list :

    3.5 x 25 €.73 per 100 1000 in a box
    4 x 30 €.88 per 100
    4 x 40 €.99 per 100
    5x 70 €3.85 per 100
    all + VAT

I have a full price list but not gona put it all in, they are a really good quality screw and the rep usually delivers them for free. If you buy loads of stuff of them they can go cheaper then them prices...

So according to your prices, my order would have been in or around the following...

    200 3.3 x 25mm - 1.46
    200 4.0 x 30mm - 1.76
    200 4.0 x 40mm - 1.98
    200 4.0 x 50mm - 2.50
    200 4.0 x 60mm - 4.50
    200 5.0 x 70mm - 7.70

    Total = 19.90

I have had to estimate the screws you left out. Is this correct? Would your fella do 200's? Would these be delivered free?

Tucks Fastners or else All Metal Fastners.

    Both companies are brilliant.

Neither Wurth nor Tucks Fasteners seems to put prices on their website so its impossible to tell.
