The weather looks to be picking up these days too (famous last words!) That's the bank holiday weekend iirc? I reckon it'll bring at least €10m into the county...

Is it going to be just in Adare or will the "Round the Houses" display happen like last year ?

Do you know that Sunday is the day of the festival?

Possibly not great planning having it the same weekend as the Irish open in Kilarney only an hour away, and the Lurgan Park Rally is on near Belfast, which usually draws 20k+ spectators (more or less every rally/motorsport fan in the country).

I wish it all the best, will head over myself during the weekend as Lurgan is too much of a trip with work constraints etc. I just question the logic of having the festival on during other big everts, and not having it tied in with the Limerick Grand Prix in a months time...

    May be of interest..

The video at the start of this thread contains quite a bit of footage taken at an event organised in 2010 by a couple of hard working volunteers from the Limerick Classic & Vintage Car Club.(LCVCC)
It's a pity that no credit is given....
It commemorated the 75th anniversary of the 1935 Limerick Grand Prix "round the houses race" & it was great to see so many period sports cars including some that took part in the original races, doing laps of the actual 1930's street circuit.

The LCVCC will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of the 1936 Grand Prix on Sept 4th 2011 , see www.limerickgrandprix.com
