Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Replacement Watch Strap

Hi, was just wondering if anyone might give me some pointers on how to get a replacement strap for my Orient Sporty Automatic. Have brought it into a couple of shops and they've told me that I'll only likely find one online, emailed Orient and posted on an Orient forum with no replies

It's just an awkward shape -I quite like the strap that it came with and am just looking for something similar, I don't think a really narrow band would suit it.

Don't have the exact size, but I can measure it when I get home, I imagine that you can see the difficulty from the photo.

You wouldn't fint too many OEM straps with that shape and probably they'll be pretty expensive. Your best bet is to buy an normal strap and clip it to make room for the lugs. You should try first with a cheap one to make sure you're happy with the way it looks on the watch.

Its strange that watch companies produce such awkwardly designed straps when you consider how often you would replace a leather strap. Does that watch maker sell their own?

Thanks guys, Peasant you're a star.

Orient don't have any official retailers here or UK, and had been following their support section to French site (as I thought I might understand it better)

Anyways, will think about the €36 + 5.50 shipping. The steel bracelet is €66, but on the same website you can buy one of their automatic diving watches with steel bracelet Day/Date for €89

I guess it says something about the movement in my watch :D

Don't think it'll be worth getting it serviced anyway!

Yes ...it's in-house, made by Orient themselves...and not bought in at exorbitant prices from some fancy Swiss outfit :D:D:D
