Fake GHD: Repair?

Hi all, I bought a GHD on DoneDeal.ie a few months ago and the cable has snapped out of the back of it. I phoned a repair guy who told me to snap of the round caps at the side and count how many screws were there. We established that it was a fake. Either way, it was a great straightener, and I would like to get it fixed. Anyone know where I could get it done? He said a real one would only have cost around €25 to fix...oh well.

Any decent electrician should be able to fix it for you .

We had trouble with one recently and my local electrician told me that he is often asked to fix them.

OT but surely anyone who can fix a ghd should be able to fix most other straighteners, it's hardly rocket science! I mean i'm sure they stock pile the parts for replacing in GHD's but you can buy replacement parts for most other brands pretty easily and at the price they charge for fixing straighteners it would definitely be worth their while!
