Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That Ngoo lad looks pretty terrible, why all the hype?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

It really was followed through with his second leg

The dangerous-ness of a tackle is not proportional to the number of legs involved. It wasn't high, he got a bit of the ball and his second leg just followed through.

That Ngoo lad looks pretty terrible, why all the hype?

    Because he is not terrible.

His physique coupled with his excellent close control means he has great potential. But he is very raw still. Would like to see him going to maybe League 1 for a few months

When he is good he is very good but seems to be one of those strikers for whom its either a going day or not.

Sterling is full of quality but I could see him getting flattened in a first team game. Needs to visit the gym and the pool.

    Sterling should have scored there.

Much much the better side. Hopefully we don't regret all these missed chances.

One of our best performances in a while. Come on the reds.

I get emotional watching these lads, i feel like a proud parent.

Liverpool the better team so far imo, but not a lot in it so far. Excellent pace to the game so far, pretty entertaining.

His physique seems to be what sets him apart at this level, not sure it will be even when he moves on. Too me his first touch, control, passing and shooting look well below the standard.

    He has lovely skill.

It's just that his legs work independently of the rest of him

Suso has misplaced a few passes but god he looks so classy on the ball.

I think if Ngoo had that 1 on 1 chance just before half time instead of when he could have put it away. He looked short on confidence and he just didn't set himself properly.

Great spirit by the lads all round.

Agree with the sentiment, not so much with the amount of so fars in it mind you ;)

Really bossing the game still. Spurs only look dangerous on set pieces at the moment. It's nearly like a first team game with the amount of close things but not scoring.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Fairclough is very biased, which is quite funny. Should have been a peno to Spurs there clearly imo.

1-0 Spurs first time we actually put Liverpool under pressure at the back

Spurs make the breakthrough, LFC spurned how many chances so far?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,267 ✭✭✭opr

I think it was pretty much a given the sucker punch was going to come. You just can't keep missing so many chances.

Gotta take your chances - that's a lesson they might be learning the hard way tonight!

What a ball from Suso and some pace from Sterling. ****ing finishing :(

    Incredible saves. We're very unlucky.

Would have taken Roddan off and left Suso on

Morgan was unlucky there! Jesus this is worse than the senior team! :)

Sterling really a handful. I'd love to see him getting at least to the bench towards the end of the season. Don't want to throw him in too early, but his pace is frightening.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

If this was a boxing match Liverpool would certainly have won it on points, alas...:(

Gutting result tonight but I guess it's all about development and the lads showed some real quality. Couldn't be happier with the performance but a pity about the finishing.

Johnathon Miles easily man of the match surprised how poorly we played worst performance so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,160 ✭✭✭tok9

That was a great effort from Morgan! Pretty disappointing that we were knocked out as that Liverpool team are very entertaining to watch.

Only really one player on show that looks like he has a real chance of becoming a top player. Sterling is a class apart from everyone on the field.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

That was very harsh on the lads but just one of those days in front of goal. Still a lot of positives to take out of the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,267 ✭✭✭opr

Sterling really is a little bit special. Only just turned 17 and he was head and shoulders above anyone on that pitch tonight. His pace and movement was electrifying.

Very disappointed, excellent performance bar the finishing.

Will be interesting what will happen a lot of that crop of players now as this is a make or break season for the lads that will be overage for this competition next season as the policy seems to be to transform the u-18's into the reserves, going by this season anyhow, and there are only so many places a reserves squad can accommodate. Hopefully the likes of Suso/Sterling/Coady will push on into contention for the first team squad now, although Sterling is eligible for this agains next year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,267 ✭✭✭opr

We still have possibly two more matches which will be good for the lads considering it is all to do with development.
For the Finals the 8 teams play a knock-out format although each team will play 3 matches to determine final placing i.e. 1st to 8th

Delighted with the win despite the performance, but at least a good section of that team have two more years at this level before they move on so lots of development to do before they have to make the step up.

Awful way to go through but we'll take it - hard luck to Tottenham, must be an awful kick in the teeth for them.

Anybody know where I could get highlights from the game? Dying to see it but google searches have proved fruitless.

Yeah man feel bad for the players that an admin blunder has cost them. Hard luck.

It really is a pity for any team to go out as Spurs did.
I am really looking forward to the next game now though as the pool team are very able side with plenty of ability.

Anyone know where I could watch replays of the last few games?

    nevermind found highlights

Just read that the competition will be expanded to a min of 24 teams next season with Man United and Real Madrid two of the clubs already signed to joining next year. It was confirmed on LFCTV in the build up to last nights game.
