    MFC semi final:

    Sarsfields 2-9 Moorefield 0-15

    Goes to a replay.

Why in the name of God can't they play extra time? It would avoid a lot of fixture congestion and whinging down the line, not to mention player burnout.

Moorefield probably should of won that game tonight. The two sarsfields goals were a gift at the right time.
    Bring on Saturday!

FYI, Paddy Brophys Aussie Rules team have qualified for the final over there. He has been a constant in the WAFL team he plays for, and had a good year. He has also been picked to take part in the "Grand Final Sprint". It's basically the fastest, or supposed to be, player from each club and they do a 100m sprint at half time in the game. Obviously as the Eagles are playing, they can only pick players not in the first team squad, but its a nice honour for him to be picked. The game is on BT Sports 1 on Saturday morning from 4am (throw in 7.30am). I'd expect the sprint to be on sometime around 9am

Agree. Midfield was very competitive this year though.

It's tough to take when you see the likes of Donie Kingston getting one. Sean Quigley had one good game against Dublin and gets one.

Tommy Callaghan reporting this morning that Glenn will NOT be the next Kildare manager.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,088 ✭✭✭Nib

    That's very disappointing to hear.

Pleas God don't let it be John Evans.

There will be plenty of interest to see if there are any neutral observers in Newbridge this afternoon.

Talk of Cian O'Neill and Bryan Murphy coming in together. I'd take that but would have rathered Glenn.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,492 ✭✭✭roy rodgers

Tommy is saying that Cian o Neill and Bryan murphy are going to be proposed for it

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

That's a rabbit out of the hat.

    SFC semi final

    Sarsfields 0-4 Celbridge 0-3 (23 mins)

Very scrappy. Referee far too fussy.

Cian O Neill announced as the new manager - Indo Sport on twitter is the source

Joe Quaid as the hurling manager is a good step - everything I've heard about him from a coaching standpoint has been very impressive

Cork man, he played with Kildare in the late 90s-early 2000s. He scored the winning goal v Meath in the 1998 Leinster Final.

He was our U21 manager this year. He was previously our minor manager, he has a great record with Kildare underage teams and is well respected around these parts.

Softish looking penalty for Sarsfields. Cahill's kick saved by McNamara but he taps in the rebound.

    Top coach
The cork man Bishopstown played with Kildare in leinster and all ireland final and won a leinster with them
Coached the minor set up to leinster two years ago and had a good under twenty one term
    A top management

Quaid in the hurling is top class and fact limerick don't want him is actually a compliment as limerick are no experts in managers

Was the man that actually started limerick under age success winning the ist under sixteen all ireland few years ago where they have since won munster minor titles contested minor all ireland final and won a under twenty one all ireland
    Quaid is a top manager

Sarsfields keeper loses a high ball and is lucky to see the ball hop over his crossbar. Gap down to 4 points.

    Sarsfields 1-14 Celbridge 0-7 (FT)

Lack of scoring forwards Celbridge's achilles heel once again. Hard to see Athy or JTB stopping the Sash.
