    Leinster Club SFC Quarter Final:

    Portlaoise 0-11 Moorefield 1-9

Fine win on the road for Moorefield without Daryl Flynn and David Whyte. 1-5 from Éanna O'Connor. Very solid defensively with Liam Healy to the fore. Heroic block from James Murray towards the end.

    Harsh on McNamara.

    McNamara stepped away.

Aaron O'Neill was impressive for the minors this year.

How hard is it to have a back up location, like in Parnell Park, 2 days before a match when indications this snow event had potential.

Feel for the players in the sense it has been a long year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 290 ✭✭mickey1979

Regardless of Parnell Park's play ability the match was never going get the green light once the snow fell. It is dangerous to ask people to travel in those conditions. Cannot believe racing went ahead scant regard for the public travelling to events. Also the snow only fell very late last night so hard to call it till it actually happens.

Could be in for a cold front next weekend too. It is Winter. It is not difficult to have a back up plan 2/3 days out. If pitch A is unplayable that morning, switched to pitch B.

Appreciate comments RE general travel. Don't know what situation was like in Westmeath. My area had minimal sleet.

Anthony Rainbow has become the new manager of Ballyboden St Enda’s. Has he managed anyone before think he has been a selector with Carlow and Sarsfields

    Managed Carlow without much success.

Was also a selector for the Kildare u21s with Murphy.

He was extremely committed and dedicated as a player. If he can get the players to buy into it he will have an impact. McGeeney used to train with him when he was based in Dublin, and if you look at the calibre of player who turned out for his testimonial it gives you an idea of the respect he has among his fellow players

This was he Rest of Ireland team who played Kildare that day:
    1. Christy Byrne
    2. Marc O'Sé
    3. Seamus Moynihan
    4. Aidan O'Rourke
    5. Graham Geraghty
    6. Glenn Ryan
    7. Kieran McGeeney (Captain)
    8. Daragh O'Sé
    9. Paul McGrane
    10. Brian Dooher
    11. Eamonn O'Hara
    12. Michael Donnellan
    13. Steven McDonnell
    14. Ja Fallon
    15. Peter Canavan

Wouldn't judge him on the carlow thing, they love gaa but are mad as a box of frogs when it comes to the county team down there
