Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very happy that Rolland has kept the White jersey, he deserved it after all the riding he did for Voeckler and after yesterdays stage!

Wow Evans is only 7secs down from Martin, no way Schlecks can touch this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,383 ✭✭✭Aoibheann

    Evans is SLAUGHTERING Schleck.

    Excellent time from Sanchez there.

Is it an official rule that nobody attacks the yellow jersey on the final day? Like say Evans was a second ahead of Schleck tomorrow is there any chance Schleck could go for it?

    Definitely, 4th at the minute

Incredible Evans gonna put over 2 minutes into both Schlecks. Hope they lose heart and Contador and Tommy overtake them.

i think its an unwritten rule,

but you'd have to think if it was a minuscule difference the second place guy would have to chance his arm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,454 ✭✭✭mloc123

No official rule but it would be considered very 'bad form'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Didn't realise how good Sanchez is at TT...great ride by him!

I wonder how tired Spartacus is after the time he put in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,383 ✭✭✭Aoibheann

Contador in second, no surprises there. Great time.

Andy Schleck is losing a huge amount of time.

lost almost a minute real time over evans so far plus the 57 he had to start with. nice one!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

AS has lost 1'49'' on Evans at check 2!

Not in my wildest dreams could I see a Schleck beating Evans on a short flat. Even if it were to happen the sprinter teams would be very quick to close it in.

Can Contador make the podium ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,952 ✭✭✭funnights74

Will evans be the first guy to win the tour without winning a stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,383 ✭✭✭Aoibheann

Cadel pretty much has a minute now. I actually feel really bad for Schleck!

And Evans did win a stage..

EDIT: He might yet win a second one! Amazing TTing!

He did, Mur De Bretagne stage, the one where Contador raised in hands in victory (epic fail).
And Contador 'won?' it last year with no stage win.

Crikey.....bugger.........chapeau Mr Evans, TDF winner ;)

Andy's the nearly man for the third year in a row, that must be an awful feeling. Still, he's only 26, he has years to win several Tours. Sure, Cadel is ancient by now! :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

Its only fitting that Evans wins the best TDF in memory. No one deserves it more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,896 ✭✭✭Sacksian

Thank you Paddy Power - Cadel Evans @11/1 on July 3rd!

Only put a €5 on it though....

    (also each-way bet on AS...)

Yeah but if AC is riding the TDF next year, he won't be doing the Giro first, and more than likely will have the legs for it!

I'd say him and Schleck are well sick of finishing second, but I guess it had to be one of them.

I seriously hope Schleck will learn to TT within the space of a year. I already cannot wait for next year's Tour, although I honestly can't see it surpassing this. My favourite of all I've seen, it's so refreshing to see it as a genuine contest.

    EDIT:

That's still very much in question at the moment. But I'll still hope that AS can win it next year, I'm a bit weary of seeing Contador on top of every Grand Tour podium.

    EDIT 2:

Still, hats off to Schleck. He's made this Tour interesting all by himself between his various complaints, awful descending and then making up for everything on Thursday. I really hope he can win a GT soon.
