Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Myself and a few friends of mine are going to a wedding in Northern Spain around the first week in August, and we´ve decided to try and make a holiday out of it by traveling across northern spain.

The wedding is on in Santiago De Compostela, and we have about 10 days before we fly out from Biarritz. Our plan is to try and get some surfing/Kite surfing in aswell as try party it up as much as possible.

Our main plan is to head San Sebastian and prob spend most of our time arpund there. Ive heard there are good beaches to the south of Santiago De Compostela, does anyone know anything about this?

Anyway any info/ideas ppl have would be greatly appreciated.

The beaches in San Sebastian are just fine. Some towns along the coast (East and West, not sure how to go south!) like Getaria are nice enough. I never got to spend time in Asturias, it's meant to be amazing, but the Picos de Europa mountains are spectacular and towns like Potes are worth a visit.

    Santander is overrated.

    HI guys,
Im planing on camping for the month around northern spain, checking out the good sruf spots along the way. :D

Do ye have any recommendations of places along the way that are fairly lively (I know it is heading to off season there) but Im hoping that from biarritz onwards it isnt ghost towns all the way.

We hit the west coast of France last year at the same time- it was deserted in most places...ended up going to some german film translated into French with a prelude by some real life ballet dancers in Hossegar....desperation for entertainment when there are no waves

What was Santiago de Com??? place turn out like? Might do some of the hikes from there too

I was pleasantly surprised by Santander, spent 2 nights there a couple of years ago on the way to San Sebastian. Didn't check out any surf there but found a really nice architect designed hotel for I think 50 quid for a double room, got a bus to the beach about 6 pm after arriving and a really amazing air show kicked off just as we got off the bus and were walking to the beach!

At the time most reviews I read seemed to favour San Sebastian so I wasn't expecting a lot, but I have to say I enjoyed Santander just as much so I reckon it's worth a night if you have time. Also there is surf there but I don't know where exactly:

Thank you so much for this. It sounds just lovely so it will definately making it there. You are so good to put the surf link up as well!
    Thanks for your help

No worries Mick Santander has a really nice beach and there's a nice viewing area that overlooks the beach. I *think* you get a ferry to the surf spots, can't remember now it's a couple of years since I was looking into it but you should get more info here:
