How do you pronounce Troll?

    Im trying to settle an argument with a friend. He pronounces it the same way as you would "doll" whereas I pronounce it the same way as "toll/poll" He says the way I pronounce is the american way and most Irish people would agree with him?

    Which way do you pronounce it?
