    Hi folks,

looking for a bit of help with a build/upgrade. It is long overdue, my last board/chip was 2005
    (MSI K8N NEO & Athlon 64 3400+ 2.4 GHz)

    I treated myself to a new display in 2009 which I will keep, it is a LG 22" W2253V-PF, Full HD 1920x1080, 50000:1, 2ms, DVI/HDMI/VGA.
I bought a new PSU after the old one died back in 2008 so that should still be good for this build. It is a Corsair Modular 620W, ATX/EPS, 120mm Fan, 8xSATA, SLI.
I will also keep the hard drive I bought last year, a WD Caviar Green WD20EARS - 2 TB SATA-300.

Everything else is going to be replaced! My budget is approx €600. Most intensive use will be gaming with standard amounts of interwebbing, movies and music. I have done some looking around and come up with the following:

    Board: GIGABYTE GA-990XA-UD3 AM3+ €115
    Chip: AMD Phenom II X4 970 / 3.5 GHz - Black Edition €130
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1866Mhz C9 - 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) €80
Graphics: EVGA GeForce GTX 460 €150
Case: Antec 300 or Coolermaster CM 690 II €50

I'm tempted to get a small SSD for the OS but wondering whether the €100 or so is good value?

I haven't shopped around for prices. The ones above are from Amazon or Scan and do not include delivery.

I am looking for a build that will keep me going for another few years! Any help re components or sources appreciated!

    Thanks
