    You got this one

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/BUSHCRAFT-SURVIVAL-MILLBANK-BAG-WATER-FILTER-L-K-/170671966349?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27bcd7888d

Not sure if they send outside the States

    http://www.filterbag.com/Filter-Bags-c2/

You will come across other bag filters but are just for air rather then water.

Thanks lads, but the dedicated water filters tend to have plastic components and be designed for a specific system. A bit complicated for my needs.

The millbank bags are going for silly money on ebay (up to €40 incl p&p) and many date back to the 60's or even before. I would prefer something newer and of better filtration standard. Hence the 1 micron bags.

They look a bit like gaf bags. have you checked those out. Don't think 1 micron will remove bacteria though..but would be good for larger stuff

Tried emailing him, he doesn't even respond. Same with an English lad living in France, wouldn't respond to him either.

The 1 micron will filter out some nasties and a roiling boil for 10 minutes should take care of the rest (water from a reasonably clear source).
