Adobe After Effects for PC?

    Hi
    Anyone got suggestions for where I can buy any recent versions of Adobe After Effects for the PC please?
    Crazy €1,300 price for v5.5 from Adobe Ireland site for latest version and not much on Ebay.
    I would be happy with an earlier version and sadly I don't have a student angle to avail of that aspect.

    The price is expensive but the Adobe After Effects is one serious bit of kit and is used for everything from Hollywood effects to simple flash animations. However if you are on a budget there is a legal way of getting it cheaper if you are prepared to do a bit of research.

    Check out to see what sort of upgrade deals are offered directly from the Adobe online shop. See what is the earliest version you could get a half decent upgrade from. You'll have to balance the version with the amount they want for the upgrade. Then check ebay etc for BRAND NEW BOXED versions of that earlier version, sometimes even foreign language versions will be OK. Having done all your checking, e-mailing them if needs be to be sure that you can upgrade from that version, you can buy the cheap one and then upgrade to it.

    I did this myself some years ago after leaving college and it worked a treat. However you have to make sure you're buying the real deal in the first place.

    If you have any relatives or firends that are students it is only 370 for cs5 master colelction.
