    Morning all,

I'm currently getting some work done on the house which is due to finish mid August.
At this stage I want to lay rolls of lawn sod.
Is this good time of the year to do this?
Will the lawn have a chance to take hold before the weather start to turn?

I guess I will also need to spray roundup on the soil before this.
How far in advance should this be done?

    Thanks,
    Wavey.

No problem laying it. You must however ensure the following:

Preparation - ensure your ground is level and ready to receive the rolled out lawn.
Water - This is the key to success. When you lay it you must water 2-3 times a day and by watering it I mean soak it. Its your only chance to make it work.
Experience - you can do this yourself - but talk to people who have put it down before as you'll want it to knit properly.
Keep off the grass for at least 7-10 days (apart from watering)

Rolled out instant lawn is expensive but when done correctly is fantastic. Good luck and enjoy it
    PS get some knee pads
