Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Used bike parts in UK/IE - where?

I've just moved to Ireland and planning to bring my Kawasaki Z750S with me, but as headlights are different in here from Europe (as you're driving on the other side of the road), so I'll perhaps need to change mine. As I'm not really willing to buy a new one, I'm looking for a used one, but as I'm new in the islands - I have no clue where to look. So the question is - where should I look for bike parts, be it a forum, a shop, a telephone number - doesn't matter (just if it's outside IE - it should be willing to ship to IE).

    Thanks in advance!

Ireland ain't great for bike parts. I own whats now considered a classic bike and I have to get everything bar petrol, oil and spark plugs in by mail order.

I kid you not, I can't even buy a battery or bulbs here as I need 6V ones.

For used bike parts for newer bikes there's a couple of operations on donedeal I believe, one of them oculd be called bikebreaker.ie or so. Just look for bike spares on donedeal and you will find them.

For a single light I wouldnt be too concerned about the beam. Cars are different what with one beam being lower and such but a single beam shouldnt be too offensive. I wouldnt buy a different one tbh.

And for that I wouldnt buy second hand either. I'd get a new part from louis.de, very reasonable on prices, very reasonable on shipping and the selection is huge.

Thanks for your reply! I took a look at the louis.de, but they don't have a headlight for my bike (well, at least not in their online catalog - or I can't search).
As for the whole changing thing - do you think I'll pass the NCT with the european headlight? I doubt it somehow.

There isn't a NCT for bikes so you won't have a problem there, it might make the bike not road legal though, give a breaker a call, the likes of city spares might have parts that would suit your bike or even try the UK as their lights point the same way.

Try www.wemoto.com - I've used them plenty in the past. Fair prices, quick response for shipping and decent stock.
