Is that a British Railways van in the background? Looks like a BR hotdog logo on side and blood and custard livery.

I apologise profusely if this shouldn't be here so please feel free to delete it if that is the case.

This a 'shot' of Drogheda which I created using N3Vs Trainz 2012. While the station layout is modern, the stock isn't quite so. Thought someone may be interested though I appreciate that purists may not be. I didn't want to resurrect one of the ancient sim threads.

Took the train from Montreal to Toronto last month.

    This loco done the honours.

    [IMG][/img]dnde.jpg

    [IMG][/img]n8wh.jpg

Very comfortable, great legroom and great WI-FI on board too

Passed a couple of goods trains too on the way

Can anyone explain this.... it seems an axle straddles both container wagons. Presume it saves weight and wear and tear..... seems a great idea.

    [IMG][/img]57bx.jpg

    [IMG][/img]f5n0.jpg

On approach to Toronto; started to see allot of these double deckers

    [IMG][/img]3h5g.jpg

    [IMG][/img]robw.jpg

One other thing; the sound of allot of the locos could easily be mistaken for a 071 class......was glorious to hear!!!!!

    Enjoy.

islanderre - welcome to the locality :D

VIA F40PHs (which you might have encountered in Montreal and Toronto stations) have EMD645s - 16 valve cousins to the 071's.

916 is a General Electric P42DC so an entirely different powerplant there.

GO Transit (the green double deckers) uses MotivePower MP40 and EMD F59PH locos, both with EMD710 variants like IE's 201 (but a bit bigger and with a secondary on-loco HEP generator)

As for the wagons - just another way to run pocket wagons for double stack containers perhaps?

    Cheers dowlingm,

It was when standing on the bridge over the railway line close to the CN tower that I heard the similarity of the Loco's to the 071 class..... lovely sound.

Enjoyed Toronto allot more than Montreal but then again only had 2 days in each.

Whats the most recent photo of 228 you have in your collection. I haven't seen that loco for a long while now. Has it been added to the 201 scrap pile.

The first 201 with a UIC code and Irish Rail branding when it comes out the other side perhaps? It was the first one in the IC livery and all.

That's actually not bad in fairness just hasn't had a repaint in about 10 years. It was due for overhaul and repaint at the time so no point in cleaining it. It's slate grey now.

    Here's a filthy one of 151,
