That's actually not bad in fairness just hasn't had a repaint in about 10 years. It was due for overhaul and repaint at the time so no point in cleaining it. It's slate grey now.

    Here's a filthy one of 151,

There is a photo online of 224 in IE orange in Cork and it is caked in muck, all over the front of it is pure brown, all you can see are the headlights and the drivers windscreen. The side are amazingly clean though, it's like it was drove through a 20ft wall of sh1t. I've never seen the front of a 201 so bad. I can't find the photo for the life of me though and I think it was being driven by IE only female driver at the time.

It's not 224 but 221 but is in cork. Is this the one you're on about ?

Yep, that's it. I was convinced it was 224 for some reason.

I'm sure I've seen much worse hanging around Heuston in the 1990s, covered in rust, mud, soot and tar and one was left wondering if it would make its way all the way to the far side of the country.

definitely, the only time i can remember trains on the rosslare line getting a wash was during the foot and mouth, any other time they wer dirty

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.

And to think IE had the A class in silver livery at the start, that was an uphill battle if ever there was one. They should have left them black, then they'd never have to clean them.

I did with the digital box, tis only a play thing. My video days of old, just like digital days of new, is only a side show, light entertainment tis all it is.
On a bright sunny day, the real camera is taken out, no digital nonsense or video footage will beat the quality of a 35mm slide, tis called ''sucking diesel''
    Regards

Why can't it be started, was it involved in some sort of problems or just requires a lot of work such as new engines etc.

With the Inchicore Wheel Lathe full to capacity this week, Limerick requested could they send 2803 + 2804 to Laois Train Care Depot for wheel turning on their lathe. The empty movement from Limerick was pictured at Clonkeen Bridge with the 0750 Limerick - Laois Depot.
