I have pictures I took today on my day off of Glanmire road station(Kent station in new money) but can't post them tonight.

Anyway 221 was sitting in the siding nearest the car park shut down with 2600s in the sidings next to it.

It seems the station has gotten a job lot of the blue signage all over the place. I took a few other pics.

The blue signs are the first decent looking signage to appear on Irish railways since the GSR bilingual stuff in the 1930s.

They are however their application on the network appears to be different (design wise),

Pictures from Cork yesterday showing the blue signage. Also in the first picture the platform seems to have been dug up. Also a few pictures from the side of the station where it looks like some building has been knocked down.

Two more from around the "back" of the station. Also does anyone know what the bridge like thing is that's attached to the building in the second picture.

Looks like a fire escape ladder maybe?

Is there an insulator attached to it? perhaps there used be some electrical thing connected to it.

I also think it had been part of a fire escape.

It's a fire escape. Taht's not an insulator, it's a counterweight to raise the ladder up.

    Evening folks,

Last weekend I visited Amsterdam, after a gap of 31 years.

Getting there proved rather interesting due to Storm Doris and other events.

I don't really know but my educated guess would be they are for passengers to stay dry if it's raining, while waiting for a train.:p

Hardly since they aren't in an area where there are tracks - perhaps they are for a replacement bus station when the railway is closed down.
