Ino this is a controversial subject, but i honestly think Noel should of tried out a different genre or something. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds do sound extremely similar to Oasis. They basically are Oasis with a few different band members.

Less Rock n Roll than Oasis really.

I'd die a happy man if I saw Noel perform 'Gas Panic' at a gig!

Gas Panic is unlikely to be played live on the HFB tour but he made a good job of it for a soundcheck during the 2009 tour:

Ya, I have the Giant's album demo's and the radio session from Brazil where Noel sang it acoustically.

The 'Casino de Paris' gig is immense in sound quality and performance.

For me it's the best recording and gig of the tour.

I was never a big Oasis fan, and do think they sound very similar but find HFB easier to listen to for some reason.

Perhaps its because Noel does all the singing in HFB whereas with Oasis it was mostly Liam?

I know some people find Noel's voice easier to listen to, and less whiny than Liams.

I probably would agree the two bands are quite similar barr the fact that Noel is the only vocalist in HFB.

Reminds me a bit of the Stand By Me video. As for Noel…priest, boxing ref, cab driver…he’s the new Mr. Ben!
That’s half the album now released as singles, bit excessive. His choice of B sides back in the early Oasis days always enticed me to buy them but this won’t ..
The b-side will be a 15 Minute remix of AKA... What a Life! from Noel Gallagher's forthcoming collaboration with the Amorphous Androgynous

I hope they show some footage from the gig in Rio where the crowd break into a mass singalong of 'Rockin' Chair'

Anyone have any info on this??
Noel Gallagher is set to make a "major announcement" in Croke Park this afternoon around 3.30pm in which he will reveal details of a major upcoming double-headliner gig this Summer.

Headlining a gig with Kasabian in Marlay Park in two months.. should be good.

I was around Ballybough/Summerhill earlier while Noel could be heard playing in the distance in Croker and the amount of concert goers littering the streets not even bothering to go see the single most influental guitar driven musician of the last 20 years was mind boggling.

    Just not madferit enough!

Great news about the Marlay Park gig, I'll be seeing Noel in Belfast a few days beforehand, making it my 5th HFB gig in a year! Epic!

Ticket got for Marlay Park, have never really gotten into Kasabian so will be giving them a good listen to in the run-up!

No surprise he is double headlining with Kasabian, he has always spoken positively of them as a band in the press. Last year he even revealed he would be more than willing to join the band! http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/15382041 . I wouldn't be suprised if they sing a few songs together, really looking forward to this gig

Listening to the vinyl pressing of the album a lot these days.

The sound is better than the cd copy, it's well worth picking up lads!

More from those crazy androgynous boys:

Like something you would hear in a video game!

Rumors in the media of Noel touring with U2 on their next tour as a support act.

I doubt it myself but who knows!!

U2 should be touring with Noel on his next tour in truth.

With this present tour running into November, Noel will be on the road 13 months so it's unlikely we'll see him again until 2014 by which time he'll hopefully have a new album. Can't imagine songs like Freaky Teeth, God Help Us All, Makes Me Wanna Cry, Revolution Song, Goodbye My Family fitting onto the AA album so he deffo has material ready to go

He has mentioned that Freaky Teeth is from 'my next album, it's well psychedelic' before playing it live at one show so maybe it will fit into the AA album somehow?

Should be an interesting album but I hope there isn't many 15 minute tracks like the What A Life remix.

This song has been on repeat in my head for the last two weeks...

Don't think I've heard a Noel tune even remotely similar ??

    It's quite haunting..

    Brilliant track.

Best line is "I still feel the pain, I've carried with me for years"
