Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking to buy or rent small piece of agri land

    Hi,

I am looking for some advice on purchasing or renting a small piece of land (up to 1 acre) in Munster, preferably Cork, with access to water.

It will be used for agricultural purposes(growing vegetables) and I would also like to have a yurt for living in during the some of the spring/summer months.

If anyone could point me in the right direction on how to do this i.e. how much would it cost to buy an acre? How to contact farmers? Is the Farmer's Journal useful? Or just go through property companies? What are the obstacles?

Basically I want to spend more time in the nature, grow most of my own food and learn about country living for some of the year. I am studying perma-culture in Kinsale and would like to put the sustainable way of living into practice.

Much appreciated for any help. (If this is not the right place for please move to correct forum area).

    Thanks
    Brian

Just contact current land owner, and talk with him.
Here are some lands for sale.
    Good luck.

Would you have to get planning permission for a yurt?

Thanks DubDubStep for the link, will check it out.

    Relig,
Because a yurt is a temporary structure, low-impact and eco-friendly I would think that there shouldn't be too much hassle, would need to clarify exactly though...
