New Pop Science book recommendations?

Hi all,

I've just finished Sagan's Cosmos and am in search of a new popular science book. I've cover evolution and genes so I'd like to move away from that.

Can anyone recommend me a good popular science book?

2 areas I'd like to research are psychology and quantum physics.

Are there any general physchology books out there? For a beginner?

Paranormality by Richard Wiseman is a good introduction into psychology with an emphasis on why we believe hokum.

On a heaver side you can have a look at Stephen Pinker works.

I am about to purchase "The Telltale Brain - Unlocking the Mystery of Human Nature " by V. S. Ramachandran after having watched every talk by him I can find on you tube and being blown away by every one. His work into reverse engineering the mind by using "damaged" versions of it to learn how it works touches on the psychology of everything from why people believe in gods to why people find art "beautiful".

If the book turns out to be even half as good as his talks, it will be a great read.

I've just finished 'Quantum: Einstein, Bohr and the Great Debate About the Nature of Reality" by Manjit Kumar.

I'd recommend it as an excellent way to learn about the history of the development of quantom mechanics.

I enjoyed the physics book The Fly in the Cathedral: How a Group of Cambridge Scientists Won the International Race to Split the Atom - provided a good introduction to atomic structure and well written.

Another one you might like The Amazing Story of Quantum Mechanics by James Kakalios, good general overview of the subject, very little in the way of equations, he keeps the explanations pretty clear and simple.
