Doing a bit of research in relation to Louth poet who writes of a rock on Slieve Foy, Carlingford which Vikings are reputed to have used for spitting sheep amongst other possible uses.

This particular poem is entitled 'The Dane's Table' and the poet refers to a 'Viking bench on Foy'.

Another line reads 'Fabled millenium cutlery prints on whinstone /Suggest spitted sheep for famished Norsemen'.

I'm not overly familiar with the area and have not been on Slieve Foy yet so I'm wondering if anybody can shed some light as to what exactly these lines refer to. I've trawled the internet for some clues but could find nothing.

    Help much appreciated.
