Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RTE Radio 1 - Crap reception?

Hey, I'm just curious how people find the reception for Radio 1 around the country.

I'm in Cork, work on the north side of the city, live on the south side, and reception is relatively poor around the place, it gets a bit jumpy and fuzzy in places and isn't always at the same quality that the likes of 2FM, Newstalk or Today FM is at.

For our national broadcaster, and the biggest (right?) radio station in the country, it's pretty annoying.

I was down in Kerry over weekend, and had problems around Dingle & Tralee in places, and at the same time Newstalk was rock solid (listening to the sport, flicked between the 2).

Is it bad all over? Or am I just particularly unlucky?

    Yep :D

Being serious though, I never have a problem with RTÉ Radio 1.

Newstalk on the other hand, tends to go haywire every now an again around midday. Which is annoying, given that this is one of the best parts of their day in my opinion.

Their Lunchetime programme is often excellent and a much better warm up to the News at One than RTÉ's Ronan Collins.

    I'm in Galway.

Presumably the signal depends on the "local" transmitter. Information on transmitter sites for RTÉ are available here:http://www.rte.ie/radio/tuning.html

If you have a LW radio you should be able to receive radio one without difficulty throughout the island.
