The Players Lounge Armed Robbery and Torching

A group of four men, one armed with a gun, entered the Players Lounge in Fairview at about 2am.

They tied up the manager of the pub and took what is understood to be a significant sum of cash.

Two fires were started shortly afterwards and the premises was evacuated.

It looks like he might have had it coming to him, based on this recent story

John Stokes (54), the Players Lounge, Fairview, was brought before a special sitting of Dublin District Court on Saturday where he was accused of ordering a publican to cease trading within 24 hours.

God, there always seems to be something going on with this pub. I feel sorry for the neighbouring houses and businesses.
