According to an Irish Independent report today (http://www.independent.ie/national-news/tds-check-in-for-dail-cash-but-not-for-votes-2836905.html) some of our elected officials haven't exactly been pulling their weight.

Shortened & Tipp relevant version from TippFM:
A Tipperary TD is one of the main offenders in the Dail, for missing out on Dail votes despite being signed in.
Fine Gael’s Tom Hayes is one of a number of TD’s identified by the Independent today, of claiming expenses by fobbing in,but yet not turning up for Dail votes.
Tom Hayes has missed ten votes, but is still well behind the main offender, Michael Healy Rae, who has missed 17 votes while being fobbed in.
South Tipp’s Seamus Healy is the only Tipperary representative to have a 100 per cent record. North Tipp’s Noel Coonan and Alan Kelly are both at 96%. Mattie McGrath is at 79%, while Michael Lowry has only voted 3 times out of a possible 24.

What I don't quite get is why they call Tom Hayes the main offender (14/24), comparing him to Healy Rae (7/24) when Lowry has only voted on 3/24 votes. Either those figures are wrong or it's another case of Mr Lowry being above censure. What exactly are TDs being paid for if not to represent their constituents?

Fair play to Healy. 100% is excellent. Lowry...Healy-Rae...We don't need folks like this in government.
