Freddie Jacobson off to a flyer

Funny how Tiger is apparently playing 'pretty well' and Harrington is playing 'rubbish' yet there's only 1 shot between them

    Well Harro is irish:pac:

Keep 'em down at all costs!!

well padraig is such a superior talent to TW that padraigs rubbish is equivalent to Tw's pretty well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 877 ✭✭✭blackwaterfish

PH: 2 birdies in the last 3 holes..... budge jayzuz thats rubbish

pffft.... followed by a bogey. guess he's doing pretty well

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,759 ✭✭✭Dr.Silly

    Another two birdies for PH

I predict a double or triple bogey before the end of the round :P

Looking forward to seeing his highlights later on ...
looking at shot tracker, he's holed some lenghty putts

Padraig off to a flyer... only a bogey on the first hole!

    woohoo.... its on baby!

Has PH been mistakenly playing stableford for the last 2 years? that would explain his post round positivity after calamitous scores vs par.

That would be funny if it was true. As far as I can see, the worst score he has posted in the last three months is 73. Unfortunately, apart from the Scottish Open, his best score has been 71. He won't trouble the top end of the leaderboards until he starts shooting in the 60's again regularly.

I see your point, but if you were talking solely about how they were striking it, then yes, there's a world of difference. It's a good thing Padraig has a World class short game. 'Cause he'd be out of the top 100 by now if he hadn't.

It's remarkable he's stayed in the top 100. He seems to miss the cut at every major and significant event and struggles to make it in Europe.

    ph starts birdie, bogey.

    Poulter, triple, birdie, double

Rickie Fowler had a poor start today but an eagle on 11 brought him to level par for the day and 3 off the lead. I really hope he wins so he the media will shut up about when his first win will come, and I like his playing and clothing style.

Good question, disappointed to see most of the rounds finished already, thought it would only be getting going now.
Stream below for anyone interested, don't see any other posted for today

Anyone see the missed putt on 18 by Rory. Was about 7 foot for birdie, he must have missed the hole by 2 inches. The putter is so cold.

It was a terrible effort. He holed from about 30 feet on 17 though.

if scott wins who will be happier scott or williams?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 373 ✭✭Iceboy

Adam is playing brilliant but Kinda want Fowler to win, he is in contention in almost every event now it's only a matter of time before he wins now, if he doesn't win today im putting money on him next week :D

    Not showing much of McIlroy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 320 ✭✭lostatsea

Williams will be ecstatic if Scott wins. Williams has a very nasty streak and this will be sweet revenge for him after being sacked by Woods.

Why is Rory McIlroy getting such little coverage? I have seen numerous shots by Karlsson who is way back but have just seen the first shot of the day of Rory. He is just off the first page of the leaderboard.

I thought the American networks were thrilled that McIlroy would be committing to the US tour next year as it would boost their ratings. However, they seem to have more interest in the unexciting Karlsson at -5 rather than McIlroy at -9!

Last week petulantly calling an American broadcaster a failed golfer might have a little to do with.

I hardly think Jay Townsend has such pull with the US networks. How petulant were McIlroy's comments? Townsend was right to criticise his course management but tweeting a comment to the effect that it was like the management of a 10 year old was asking for trouble.

your actaully probably right, they have shown zero mcilroy coverage and tons of people behind him on like 4,5 under par

Perhaps being 5 shots back and making no birdies is the reason.
Then again he is the reining US Open champion, he has obviously done something if he is not getting coverage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 320 ✭✭lostatsea

More Karlsson - watching every shot as he struggles up the 18th. I know McIlroy is behind and won't win but I'd imagine American audiences would like to see the US Open champion.

Hope Adam does it ... lovely player..

I think if he wins this, he's going to climb up the world rankings exceptionally quick and be back in the top 5 within no time. His putting, which has let him down in the past has improved ten fold.

Nice chip in for birdie then as well
