Thanks but I meant more of a Stira type job. They look a little more advanced than that.

I had pondered the flooring in the attic but alas I would have to purchase something to cut said flooring with and that add cost which could just be done by somebody else.

Sounds like you need a man around the house.

I also need someone to install an attic stairs I bought in B+Q, a guy was supposed to come and do it for me but never arrived, anybody know anyone

Our attic flooring is litterly just planks of chipboard that clip into eachother (Like the lino wooden flooring stuff) - and its about half an inch thick. Just clip in, nail or screw down and move onto the next plank! :)

Who sells that? B&Q, Wickes etc?

I think it was in B&Q? (The one by Harvey Normans) As you walk in the door, take a right and its about 2 or 3 aisles from the back!

Might pick it up tomorrow morning so. Must be up to the attic to measure between the beams and stuff.

Problem still is there. How do I get into the attic. Go to shed and get stepladder. Involves going to the shed and getting the stepladder, using it, and then having to put it back. :(

I'm off sick. Can't be arse hatted doing that. :D

I'll call over and I'll do it for you :P

Get the ladder or install the floor?........................ I can pay you with (looks around room) potpourri and a half drunk bottle of Tesco water which is in fact filled with tap water. :D

It may well be easy to do it yourself, but you'll get less grief from the mrs if anything isn't 100%. :)

You drive a sports car, work like 50 hours a week and don't have a mortgage. You can surely afford your own beer. :P

I'm going to Install a pendant light up there as well. The only way she will know anything about that is when the house catches fire. :D

Not shilling but spamming. His first and only post here plugged his company and offered his own services. You still have the info from it anyway.

I do and to be fair I will share it:

€280 for an Attic Ladder Install
€380 for a Higher Quality Ladder Install

The €380 Ladder is installed in my parents and is a very good quality one. The guy he took over the company from installed it many many years ago and its stood the test of time.

Superior Attic Ladders is the company. Colin Beck is the guy.

You'd be insane to lay floor your attic at this time of the year yourself...... it's not a difficult job, but the heat in the attic is going to make for a miserable time... do it during the winter, when it's lashing rain and you can't do anything outside....

Or I could have a shower when I'm finished and a cold beer. :D

*Looks out window. It's raining now anyway. ;)

Also recommend these guys. Did our ladder and flooring 4 years ago and never any problems.

Try xxxx they did a attic ladder in my mothers house 2 years ago it was the best thing my mother got. They came on time done the job in no time they do attic flooring as well 10 out of 10 for their work

Bumping a 2 and a half year old thread to peddle attic stairs and doing it on another thread within a few minutes?
Not at all shill like ;)
But in the interests of fairness, I won't doubt ya but I will say....
I had an attic stairs installed by http://www.theatticstairs.ie this August and not only is the staircase itself top quality!
The installation was done quickly, there was no mess and it only cost me €240 for an iattic stair with an insulated door that blows my GF's €400 Stira yoke out of the water in terms of quality.
    And he's a local(County Limerick based) too.
