Does anyone with Epilepsy know if you have gotten your medical cert to get your provisional driving license can they make you get another one for your full license?

AFAIK you need a cert every time you renew your licence so I think you will need it for a full licence too

You will need a cert every time you apply or renew a licence. (I think its best to get this from your consultant as GPs tend to be catious when completing these forms).

The rules vary depending on the type of epilepsy you have and how long you have been seizure free.

The rules governing driving have changed recently (end of 2010) and www.brainwave.ie have some good information. It might be worth putting in a call to Brainwave - speak to the epilepsy nurse who are generally very helpful (usually Monday is a good day to get her). The www.RSA.ie website also has a Guide for Medical Practicioners which is worth checking out.

It is frustrating to be without a car but it is not safe if you epilepsy is not under control.
