    Hi

anyone recommend a site for buying plants and bulbs on line or places to avoid. I would prefer to use Irish ones. I have tried local garden centres but not up to much.

    thanks

Hi there, we had a short thread on this a few weeks ago:

Bakker was recommended in that other thread. While their bulbs might be fine, my experience of their plants (admittedly a few years ago) was very disappointing, I sent for a 'package' of herbaceous plants and got a very low survival rate.

For the past few years I've bought my spring bulbs online from http://www.mrmiddleton.com in Dublin. They have a smaller range for sale online than Bakker, but their prices are generally lower. Their spring bulb range is usually available from early September.

For bulbs you are better going to specialist suppliers and not garden centres. Those bulbs in packets are not always what the colour photo shows.

If you arent fussy garden centre bulbs are OK

I buy from suppliers in Latvia and Lithuania

    I buy stuff from www.hedges.ie.

Based in Roscommon and next day delievery too.

I placed my order on a Tuesday and had the stuff the next day on my doorstep in Dublin.

Great quality and great service too.:)

Nice selection and the plants do very well..
Bought from Baker at the same time and was very disappointed indeed..

www.futureforests.net for trees and hedging, dealt with them a few times and were good.
