Very difficult to believe that anyone would say something positive about Namaste. Oh well, kind of weird that after I post something negative about Namaste to this thread after it has been dormant for about 6 weeks, instantly something positive is posted about it a few minutes later. My posting is of course not even acknowledged. :)

I only tried Namaste once, found them ok/good, well priced, will give them another go.
East wall is a bit far away for delivery to me but i'll keep it in mind.

The Bombay Phaal is you ask nicely. It's pretty hot, but not the hotest you'll ever have. That honour goes to the now closed Curry Cottage in Athenry, Galway. It is to this day the only time I have been unable to completely finish doe to hotness.

readers of Viz and lovers of hot curries should order some of this stuff, make sure you have some toilet paper in the fridge though

I was always told that you should order a tindaloo? Hotter than a vindaloo.

That sort of stuff is either for hardened chilli heads or the drunken fool who tries to show off by ordering the hottest thing on the menu and then manages two mouthfulls..I'd rather enjoy my grub tbh.

I find phal to have a very peppery taste as black pepper is one the main things added to it. Ya its hot but taste aint the may west.

Your best to just pick a nice tasting curry thats already medium to hot such as a madras chilla masala or vindaloo and ask them to make it very very hot for you.

Most Indian places will not give you anything to hot because they assume we aint able for it. So explain that to them :pac:.

Theres a takeaway in Rathcoole and one in Belgard Tallaght that i would recommend.

Pure and The Indian gate. If you explain to them excatly what you want they will usually always go very hot for you :).

The taj mahal on the junction of Clare street (Sadly gone) had at the top of their menu 5 measures of heat for their dish's.

Mild, Medium, Hot, Very hot, And for Indian Nationals only.

I know, in these days of pc crap etc bla bla bla.

Had to have a go, so after a lot of promising to pay the bill even if it was to hot for me to eat, my meal arrived.

It was the biz, yes it was very hot which I had wanted but to this day have never been able to order a very hot dish that is really tasty and delivers on the heat.

anyone know of anything as hot / hotter than a phaal that doesnt taste like a phaal . Some places can do a fairly hot vindaloo but I want something thats a little sweeter than a phaal while also being quite hot

New Indian Kitchen in Donabate do a very hot Vindaloo. Pretty tasty too.

I'm a phall eater, but you can RARELY get even close to that kind of heat in Ireland. The donabate one comes close.

    GO TO THERE!

Would a thai restaurant (if such a place exists) be more likely to sell hot curries etc?

I've been there several times and there seems to be almost limitless amounts of heat(and flavour) with some of the dishes, especially anything using the local red chillies.

kin khao in Athlone will taylor the heat to suit you, if you order the crying tiger and ask them to make it extra hot its pretty much fire in your mouth.

OK, so it's not in Dublin, but SAFA in Belfast do a wonderfully hot Phall. www.safabelfast.com/‎

I had one for lunch, went out for a load of beers and was back for another one at closing time :)
