Great band live. It'll be interesting to see what they're like unplugged so to speak.
Tickets are on sale now for a special unplugged gig from Anticon's Why? who'll be rolling their grand piano up to The Button Factory on October 22nd.

WHY? are a trio of gifted musicians with visionary Yoni Wolf at the helm. Their unique fusion of intelligent, emotive and wry lyrics, taut rhythms and stirring electronic sounds synthesise in compelling ways and evade simplistic genre classifications of hip hop or pop. Instead presenting a patchwork of styles which offers something new for their ever-expanding fanbase and live audiences. With a prolific output of acclaimed albums from the considered classics "Oaklandazulasylum" and "Elephant Eyelash" to the more recently applauded "Alopecia" and "Eskimo Snow", and also revered for their live performances, WHY? show no signs of slowing down.

Yoni and Josiah Wolf and Doug McDiarmid will be performing their canon of fan favourites, cult classics, covers, as well as previewing songs from their much anticipated, still untitled fifth album. Yoni will lead the performances, playing all songs on the grand piano.

I created another thread for this without noticing this one, sorry.

There's some videos on youtube of Yoni Wolf playing solo (vocals and piano), they are quite bare sounding and his voice is not very strong, but I think fleshed out with drums and marimba and whatever else it could potentially be a great gig.

Doug McDiarmid and Josiah Wolf are able to pick up and play most instruments, so there's a nice bit of mystery involved in how they will sound.
