Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

AI man said calving bed was small in a hereford heifer he was bulling for me. What did he mean by that? That she would be hard to calf, that the calves would be small or what.

id assume he meant the uterus (claving bed) was small its likely that the heifer was not fully mature as it will increase slightly in size following puberty, more than likely he had difficulty Ai'ing her
this however by itself should have little bearing on her calving ability once she reaches a decent physical size by the piont of calving

if it wasn't she would be after having a calf, only the distance between the hips gives you an indication of calving ease.

    What about,
The set of the tail head?
    The width at the pins?
    The extent of musculature?

To be exact, it's the area of the internal pervic opening that gives the best indication, but the external width gives a good indication.
