The decades festival is on the 19th and 20th August, if anyone fancies a fancy dress meet up?!

These events are open to old and new boardsies, so don't be shy.

Oooh decades festival, that's new to me. Whereabouts is it held?

Most pubs in Cork are taking part. They all choose a decade and decorate the bars and staff dress up. Its great fun!

Yeah would be class to see Cork from a different perspective, few different options/trips too so might be an option if a few of us are interested and the weather is clement!

20 people is an unrealistic target and many of the women (some of the lads too) are to wussy for paintballing. Worst case you get a small red patch on your skin that disappears after a few days. I don't see the issue but some people are no fun. Nyways I wont be back till September :(

Mmm true doubt there has ever been 20 at a meetup?

Sea Safari could work still though.

Actually depending on the weekend I wouldn't mind have a bit of a barbecue out my back, weather dependent of course. I live virtually in city centre, what Friday/Saturdays are people around? Be looking towards end of August ..

I'm in. However I don't think you'll get 20 people for the gaol..seems fun though.

Sea safari would be great. :)

There has I think one night. Was complete and utter madness, people didn't know who other people were and most didn't get a chance to speak to everyone! Then trying to get everyone to move bars....
I like the sea safari idea too. They do a boat trip from Cork to Cobh for penrose wharf area. Think its about 15 e an adult.

I would like to get in on this meetup. I really don't like pubs, especially for get to know people meets. I end up standing like a lemon talking to my glass.

If any activity like the safari is happening count me in. There have been many deals on Boardsdeals/livingsocial etc. that I have wanted to do, like sailing and scuba diving, but no one I know is interested.

the Dog track is another great idea. I was there a couple of weeks ago. You can book online and get entry, plus a burger and a beer for a tenner!

We're off to Switzerland on Wednesday until the 26th, but we're on for anything after that.

    Hi there,

I'm new to Boards. I'm looking to make new friends for going out in Cork for a few beers and a laugh. The August meet seems like a good place to start. How about something for nxt Sat 27th?
