Does anyone have any information about how I would go about setting up an arts n crafy camp for example for Halloween? I work part time based in a primary school as a Special Needs Assistant and have been thinking about doing something along this line to boost my income
What would the situation be regarding insurance etc. any legalities?

Where you hold the class has to be insured for children to be doing classes on the premises, so probably public liability insurance, Garda clearance obviously but you probably already have that if you've worked with kids, can't think of anything else right now. A friend of mine runs art camps quite a bit, these were the main legalities she mentioned about it.

I am probably better of to do a trial course in a school I work in as the premises will be insured and will have all the contacts there. I do have Garda Clearance already and maybe I can do a deal with the school to donate a certain percentage of the profits.

Remember if you go into a school out of hours, unless they are open for other reasons you may find someone has to be employed to lock up and generally be responsible (caretaker).
