Great catch Vulcan well done, dont recall seeing any as good as that over Galway ever. :D wonder was it a waterspout or a tornado type cloud??

Cool, so it was a funnel cloud! My wife rang me to say she saw one while walking at salthill. I didnt believe her and told her the weather conditions today arent right for one!
    Was it around 1pm?

Think you owe your wife an apology, these were taken at 13.02 today. :)

Must be an early August phenomena. I snapped this one over Spiddal on the 7th of August 2007.

My brother saw one last Tuesday evening over Galway Bay over on the Burren side.He rang me and the second he told me i hopped on my bike as i live close to the bay,by the time i got to the Prom there was the reminence(sp) of what looked like a funnel cloud. This must be the time of year for them as someone already said.

    Great pic btw:)
