    Hiya,

I'm getting problems with certain characters causing input to break/database won't write.

People are using various foregin characters, exclamation marks and various webdings/strange graphical characters.

The problem is that these names are imported through an API and need to remain 'as is' - my current preg_replace function deals with making input datasafe to some extent - but now now sure it is at all.

Is there a library for a complete hack proofing for preg_replace? to protect against using these character against form input? I've tried google and can only find add peices)

Many thanks for any help in advance!
