I downloaded 15gb of movies/ tv seasons yesterday, will my bill be up the roof?

i know stupid idea.

Im with puretelecom, and im pretty sure that we have unlimited downloads but will i be charged any extra, and would it be much?

Well, you might be charged. Unlimited doesn't mean literally unlimited. There's normally a fair usage stipulation. Best to read your contract in future.;) There is usually an exact definition given. Once this definition is breached, you connection is usually temporarily clamped at a really slow rate.

You could look at that a different way and say maybe you will be charged with breaking copyright law. Especially after talking about it on the internet. I think its €250,000 or 5 years in prison. Don't quote me on that though.

Wut? Downloading TV shows and movies can be legit through Itunes and similar, you know.:)

I suppose, but thats about what 10-20 movies depending on the quality. You don't normally buy that in one night.

10 -20? The DVD era is long gone my friend. That said, the steam era is worse. I once did 49GB of steam games in one night!

You will be ok, were all just playing around a bit. Even if you dont have unlimited downloads 15GB should be covered in your average download limit.

Theres no harm in giving them a call and asking what your download limit is. I don't think they would tell you in an email. They need to have verified all your details ect. before they can tell you. Otherwise your neigbour or anyone can email and ask about you.

I was looking at the pure telecom website and it appears that your download limit is either 20GB or Unlimited (im sure theres some sort of fair usage policy on it). If its the 20GB with four internet users in the house you probably would have exceeded it before now.

Yes and no. Sometimes they can be different formats which will make one slightly larger. If they were both 300mb it should be roughly the same ammount of data. But everytime you stream a video it is using your data, some video players will use extra data if you go back and watch a bit again (it may have to re-load it). You can watch a 300mb video you downloaded multiple times and it will always only take 300mb. But basically if you watch both once from start to finish it should be roughly the same.

streaming 300mb and downloading 300mb is the exact same, however, depending on the methods you use to download, you could be uploading that file at the same time that you download it. your cap (apparently 20gb or "unlimited"*) is your total downloads + total uploads.
