Jia Jia is my favourite although the 'Inniu Kung Fu' place on the main street has a new chef from Jasmine Palace in Limerick which is supposedly a top class restaurant. So I'm definitely going to give it a go soon.

    +1 Kens - yummy food.
So good that when I get a takeaway in Athlone and drive home to Moate to eat it I pass at least 4 other Chinese restaurants on the way home.

Imperial on (I think) Mardyke Street.

Been getting Chinese there since the '80s. The spare ribs are the best I've ever tasted.

The Jasmine Palace in Limerick is a top notch restaurant and the food is fantastic so if Athlone is getting one of their chefs then I think it is only a good thing for this restaurant.

I think I might be trying it in the near future myself.

I know its not Chinese, but Kin Khai thai restaurant does takeaway and is ten times nicer than any Chinese.

I find Jia Jia sit down nice, but take away to be poor. Kens always gets good reviews. And the Imperials ribs are legendary around town.

If golden star is the one out by apple green in Arcadia then that's very nice.

Jia Jia is great. And the King Dragon place on Connaught St is grand too - speedy delivery but Jia Jia has always been top notch I've found.

there's honestly no Chinese in Athlone I don't like but each does one thing better then the others - some have great BBQ Ribs others have better egg fried rice etc.

Double Y has the friendliest cashier I have ever seen. Quick service and nice enough food always go there in Athlone. Often get a free bag of crackers which is a bonus. Nice touch.
