Wait till Del Boy and Rodney arrive in the Reliant Robin and the frontlines will disperse to let them through.

Wonder if the london police were relying too much on cameras and thats why this has happened.

Even without rioting Hackney looks a realy grim place to live

It's to instill fear in the people they are charging AFAIK.

Make them anticipate the next charge and some will lose their nerve and disperse.

Some interesting comments about police tactics with some saying there doesn't seem to be any serious leadership at the top and the police tactic of just standing still behind shields while mob lob bricks and bottles etc, at them is not the way to deal with whats happening now .

Camerons still on holiday to ...

Kettling=Police surrounding a crowd and not letting them move away.

The police need to bring out the water cannons, and the tear gas and the horses.

A group of youths burning a car right now....police should be arriving and arresting them all...anyone who resists gets a baton to the face.

I dont envy the police on the street there. If a single rioter slips and falls or suffers a serious injury, the cops will be dragged out and crucified. Its no wonder the police have stood back and tried to wait for this to burn out rather than risk being jailed themselves.

Switch to live rounds. This would all be over in half an hour.
was it not live rounds that started all this in the first place.

I think the world has become so PC that it has become ridiculous! There is no excuse for the criminal damage that these people are doing and I believe they should be stopped. A police force should be able to use necessary force to control the baddies.

There is no way in hell that looting and running down the road with a TV can be classed as any form of political protest against the police!

Yes, again, this later stuff is no protest against the police no doubt, but if the police were to storm in, there'll be more generations of people against the Met.

Surely they have to be smart..it probably isn't too hard to be smarter than the looters..

    Plenty of parks and greenery.

Roads and paths in top class condition.

A lot of shops and good transport links.

It's not Utopian, but it's a hell of a lot nicer then Parisien Banlieues or the Projects in Major US Cities.

It's the people who live there that make it a kip.

They don't want to leave the position they have established and secured. They could get surrounded if they keep moving their line.

Surrounded or ringed by officers...it's an attempt to corral and limit movement of large crowds.
