Hi All, I have the two following models of LCD TV's Philips 47PFL7603D / 10 and LG 32LG3000 so far I've managed to get sound and no pictuir on them, so am concluding that they are unable to recieve MPEG4 - I am wondering is it possible to upgrade the software? they are new (enough) models and can't believe that they are…

Hi All,

Philips 47PFL7603D / 10

and

LG 32LG3000

so far I've managed to get sound and no pictuir on them, so am concluding that they are unable to recieve MPEG4 - I am wondering is it possible to upgrade the software? they are new (enough) models and can't believe that they are unable to do this!

Sound and no pictures indicates it's not MPEG-4.

Not possible to software upgrade them for MPEG-4, separate STB required to view the Saorview channels.

Philips sets that are MPEG4 capable have an H in the model number. A D signifies MPEG 2 only.

If they are newish you should be able to return them as not suitable for use in Ireland. There is a thread on this somewhere by Watty.
