Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've as nugent 6 foot semi offset and it's a fairly bullet proof machine, i run it behing a ford 4610 and it's well able for it.
I changed one of the blades today and refilled the gear box with oil.
What part of the country are you in solorpower, there's loads of them up on donedeal with lads upgrading to disc mowers.http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/machinery/2236907

    thanks for your reply guys,

i do see lots of them on done deal all right but it is hard to tell what is are good one or not.

the other thing i need to watch out is that My tractor is a very old ford 4000 and would not be able to handle a big topper.

it will take any 6ft topper with ease

Assuming you're using it for topping grassland, and not cutting rushes then a 4000 should surely be able to handle an 8 or 9 foot topper?

Of all machines that you can buy a small off set topper is prodably the easest machine to maintain or repair . Some are belt driven some with a gearbox . So when buying one just making sure geabox belts etc. are ok and its not rusted out not alot to go wrong. For small omount of topping any of the popular brands Major , Bemac,Abbey etc all do much the same job.
